Toucher & Rich: Thornton vs. Vancouver Writer

BOSTON (CBS) – Bruins forward Shawn Thornton was on Comcast SportsNet’s Sticks And Stones with Michael Felger Tuesday night and it quickly became must-see-TV.

Felger was talking with The Province columnist Tony Gallagher from Vancouver, who had some choice things to say about Thornton’s performance in Saturday’s Bruins-Canucks game.

Felger brought up Dale Weise acting like he wanted to fight Thornton, then not taking off the gloves when Thornton obliged, possibly trying to draw an instigator penalty.

Gallagher then started to say how Thornton should have never tried to fight because Weise already fought Nathan Horton that period, but Thornton, in studio the entire time, is invited by Felger to join the conversation.

Thornton went after Gallagher, bringing up the fact he took on six Canucks during a first period scrum near the Vancouver bench.

Wow, I knew the Bruins fans, players, management had no class. This host of Sticks & Stones takes the cake. Enjoy your Cup win from Last year Bruins, you won’t repeat as Champs.

You guys wouldn’t make it in any canadian market where the fans know hockey. Im embarassed for bruins fans. we like their brand of hockey up here but you guys are embarassing. Did thornton drop the gloves in his “1 vs 5” fight what a joke. If the playoffs are called properly by the officials Boston wont get to the finals. By the way most of your players are Canadian some from BC like Lucic and Marchand. I suppose Boston isn’t whining about the Marchand suspension. What a joke.
