NASHUA, N.H. (AP) — GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum is trying to lower expectations for his performance in Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Lana Jones reports.

Campaigning Monday after an event in Nashua, Santorum said that pulling off another second place finish would be “a dream come true.” The former Pennsylvania senator pointed out that he hasn’t run any ads in New Hampshire and has only campaigned there five days in the past month.

WBZ-TV’s Jonathan Elias reports

Last week in Iowa, Santorum vaulted from the back of the pack to finish second, eight votes behind winner Mitt Romney.

Santorum said the key is to emerge Tuesday as the strongest alternative to Romney and to continue building off that momentum.
