Business Headlines: Baskin-Robbins In Vietnam; Trader Joe's In Foxboro

BOSTON (CBS) – From Canton, Massachusetts all the way to Southeast Asia.

Baskin-Robbins says it has just signed a deal to open 50 shops in Vietnam.

The first three new restaurants open this week in the capital of Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon).

Last summer, Baskin Robbins opened its 4,000th location outside the U.S., a store in Singapore.

TRADER JOE'S TO PATRIOT PLACE

Trader Joe's devotees will soon have a new location to visit.

The company plans to open a store at Patriot Place in Foxboro, right next to Gillette Stadium.

The new store will have the usual Hawaiian décor, but with a few Patriots elements thrown in.

It will also sell beer and wine.

This will be Trader Joe's 18th store in Massachusetts.

FAST FOOD BARGAINS

It's bargain time at some of the country's biggest fast food chains.

Usually, January is a slow time for them because we've spent so much on holiday gifts and have resolved to lose weight in the New Year.

That means traffic at the restaurants slows to a milkshake's pace.

Now fast food places are pulling out all the stops from under-a-buck deals to coupons, so expect to see a lot more ads the next few weeks.
