Brady Named AFC Offensive Player of the Month

BOSTON (CBS) - New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Month for December/January, the team announced Thursday.

Brady led New England to a 5-0 record in the month of December and January and completed 124 of 190 pass attempts for 1,608 yards and 11 touchdowns with a passer rating of 106.6. He threw for 300 yards in four of the five games.

Brady's 1,608 yards led the AFC for the month and his 11 touchdown passes tied for a conference-best with San Diego's Philip Rivers.

It is the second time in 2011 that Brady has been named Offensive Player of the Month. He also earned the honor for his performance in the month of November. It is the sixth time overall that Brady has earned an AFC Player of the Month honor. He was the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for September and October in 2007, the month of October in 2009 and for the month of December in 2010, in addition to the two honors in 2011.
