Chung, Spikes, Light Active For Patriots

FOXBORO (CBS) - The New England Patriots defense will get a few players back as they close out the regular season against the Buffalo Bills.

Patriots safety Patrick Chung is active against for the first time in nearly two months, along with linebacker Brandon Spikes and tackle Matt Light.

Chung has been nursing a foot injury he suffered November 6 against the New York Giants. Spikes was also injured in that game, and had not played since with a knee injury.

Report: Penn State Ready To Hire Bill O'Brien

Light was a late scratch last week against the Miami Dolphins with an ankle injury. Having him out there against the Bills will be big for New England, as they need him and that side of the line to be solid as they head into the postseason.

The following players are Inactive for New England:

G Logan Mankins
OT Sebastian Vollmer
LB Tracy White
RB Kevin Faulk
RB Shane Vereen
DL Ron Brace
QB Ryan Mallett

With Mallett inactive, that's a good sign that Tom is good to go and the Pats have confidence in that shoulder.  Tracy White sitting out shows confidence in not only Spikes, but also Niko Koutouvides.  Niko has stepped and started to play strong and the Pats like what he's doing on special teams.

Faulk out means rookie Stevan Ridley will see the rock quite a bit, and so will the new guy, fullback Lousaka Polite.
