BOSTON (CBS) – The reward for a stolen kitten has doubled.

“Speckles” was taken from the Friends of the Plymouth Pound Adoption Center at the Independence Mall in Kingston on Christmas Eve.

The shelter initially offered a $500 reward for the return of the tiger kitten, no questions asked.

But volunteers who have seen Speckles story have boosted the reward to $1,000.

Speckles isn’t neutered and has a tiny bald spot on the back of his neck.

I can’t help but think the stolen cat was probably a Christmas present and now has a home, and yet 1k will go towards its return to a SHELTER!? Am I the only one who thinks this is nuts??

You actually think he went to a GOOD home?!? At the FPP, they take care of the cats like they were their own kin. He went home with some teenager who most likely wanted it for his girlfriend, and they will ignore and probably abuse it. You are an IDIOT if you think he is better there than at the FPP adoption center. Yes, you are the only one who thinks this is nuts. If they cant pay for the adoption fee, how will they pay for food, vet bills, microchips, cat toys/furniture,etc? Tell me that! Also, if they had the money and didn’t pass the inspection process, dont you think there is something wrong with the home or people that filled out the application? Don’t leave idiotic comments when you have no idea what you are talking about. They want him back so they can find the best home for the cats, and not with some teenager who probably sold the cat already to buy drugs. “Has a home” is not the case with this. “Has a horrible abusive home” is more like it. The reason I believe this is because he BROKE IN TO A MALL COMPLEX AND STORE! Idiot.

Thank you so much for helping to find Speckles and bring him back where he belongs. It is unfortunate that a small percentage of people are untrustworthy when most people are decent and caring. We are all hoping the little guy makes his way back to “FPP” soon.
