2 MassDOT Workers Burned While Drilling On Route 128

WALTHAM (CBS) – Two workers with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation were rushed to the hospital Thursday after being seriously burned working along a busy highway.

The workers were drilling in an electrical conduit on Route 128 and 117 near the bridge in Waltham. They thought it was empty, but they were wrong

One workers suffered burns on his face.

The other worker tried to help the man and was burned on his hand.

The injuries for both are serious, but not life-threatening.
