NH Library Director Can Get Job Back After Serving Jail Sentence

PELHAM, N.H. (CBS) – A man who will spend the next six months behind bars for stealing $200,000 at work can have his job back when he’s a free man again.

A judge sentenced 46-year-old Robert Rice Jr. on Tuesday for stealing money from the Revere Public Library when he was the director.

He resigned in 2009 and then took a similar position in Pelham, New Hampshire.

WBZ-TV’s Lauren Leamanczyk reports

The chairman of the Pelham Library Trustees said Rice’s job is safe as long as we wants it, according to the Eagle-Tribune.

On top of his jail sentence, Rice must pay $260,000 in restitution.

Is this a great country or what? You can steal $200,000 from a company and then get your job back!?

I am being incredibly sarcastic, of course. The Trustees of that library are complete morons. I guess that’s how they do things in Revere.

And obviously the Pelham, NH hiring committee didn’t look into this guy’s past.

Learn how to read an article BOSMONKEY! Rice will get his job back in> Pelham, NH if he wants it. He was NOT offered ANY job by Revere nor, I’m sure, would they want him back after his theiving that they dealt with.
