Kraft, Wynn Disappointed With Foxboro's Casino Vote

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Las Vegas casino operator Steve Wynn are expressing disappointment after Foxborough selectmen voted to oppose a casino across from Gillette Stadium.

The 3-2 vote, which was non-binding, followed an emotional meeting attended by hundreds of town residents Tuesday night.

A brief statement issued on Wednesday by The Kraft Group and Wynn Resorts criticized the decision by selectmen to deny Foxborough residents "the due process they are entitled under the state's gaming law."

Kraft and Wynn have called for a town-wide referendum on the proposed casino development.

The statement said Kraft and Wynn have not decided on their next steps. They have said a casino would create thousands of jobs, but opponents contend it will bring increased crime and traffic and ruin the character of the town.
