Police: Motorists Lift Van Off Child After Crash In Boxborough

BOXBOROUGH (CBS) - State Police are investigating a multiple vehicle crash on I-495 northbound in Boxborough.

One vehicle rolled over and a total of 10 people were injured. The highway was shut down so a medical helicopter could transport a 41-year-old New York woman to UMass Hospital in Worcester.

State Police say there were seven people in the van including two children, ages five and eight. The eight-year-old boy ended up under the van.

Witnesses say that motorists stopped and lifted the van off the child.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash.

As of 7:20 p.m. the middle and far left lanes of the highway were open to traffic.
