Attorney: Woman Charged In Robbery Spree Has $100-A-Day Heroin Habit

FRAMINGHAM (CBS) - A Framingham woman previously charged in a robbery at Symphony Hall earlier this month has been arrested again for a string of robberies at knife-point over Christmas weekend.

Police said 27-year-old Chelsea Ingalls first hit a CVS in Framingham at around 7 p.m. Christmas night. Then just a few minutes later, a gas station in Wellesley reported a similar armed robbery.

Then on Monday, police said she tried to hold up the Sunoco in Newton, but the clerk fought back, and also made note of Ingalls' license plate number.

WBZ-TV's Sera Congi reports.

Ingalls was arraigned on Tuesday for just one of the robberies, the hold-up in Framingham. She was ordered held on $5,000 bail.

Earlier this month, Ingalls was arrested for stealing two purses during a holiday Boston Pops concert at Symphony Hall.

Prosecutors said Ingalls has four convictions on her record and has served time twice.

The defense attorney said Ingalls has a drug problem and spends $100 a day supporting her habit.
