BOSTON (AP) — Thanks to some last-minute legislation on Beacon Hill, consumers in Massachusetts will be able to purchase beer, wine and liquor on the day after Christmas.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Ben Parker reports.
Gov. Deval Patrick signed a bill last week to allow package stores in the state to open on Monday.
Under previous state law, when Christmas fell on a Sunday liquor stores were also required to remain closed on the Monday after the holiday.
Lawmakers changed the law, saying it would help retailers and consumers.
