Massachusetts Gas Prices Drop 6 Cents

BOSTON (AP) — Massachusetts drivers have received an early Christmas gift with gas prices plunging for the fifth consecutive week just in time for holiday travel.

AAA Southern New England reports Monday that self-serve, regular gasoline dropped six cents in the past week to an average of $3.22 per gallon.

The Massachusetts price is a penny below the national average for the same grade, but still 22 cents more than at the same time last year.

AAA found self-serve, regular as low as $3.09 per gallon and as high as $3.43.
