McDonald, Mallett Added To Patriots Inactives
BOSTON (CBS) - Offensive lineman Nick McDonald and third-string quarterback Ryan Mallett were added to the Patriots inactive list for their game against the Denver Broncos.
The duo joins five Patriots who were ruled inactive on Saturday: Safety Patrick Chung, linebacker Brandon Spikes, receiver Deion Branch, running back Shane Vereen, and offensive lineman Sebastian Vollmer.
Again, Branch comes as a surprise. Tom Brady has to make an effort to get either Chad Ochocinco or Tiquan Underwood into the game. This could also mean a big game for Aaron Hernandez. Good news for Tom, Broncos safety Brian Dawkins is also inactive, so the Denver secondary is going in a little thin.
I expect the Broncos to try and test the Pats secondary and if they do, they could be falling right into the Patriots game plan.
