BOSTON (CBS) – A big holiday party was held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center on Sunday to benefit homeless children.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Doug Cope reports.
It was the 23rd annual Christmas in the City event, featuring dancing, toys, dinner and of course, a visit from Santa Claus.
Jake Kennedy and his wife started the whole thing.
“We found some people in shelters, and why not give them a party and a very special present because we take for granted our holiday memories, so we want to give out other holiday memories,” said Kennedy.
“We started with 165 children the first year, and through the generosity of volunteers and donors, this year we’re up to 3,500 kids at this party,” Kennedy added.
