Would You Rather See Kids Experiment Pot Instead Of Alcohol.

Teenagers are turning to marijuana and drinking less alcohol, according to the University of Michigan National Institute on Drug Abuses. The national survey of 47,000 eighth, tenth, and twelfth graders found one of every 15 high school seniors said they smoke pot on a daily, or near daily, basis.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

Bradley Jay says that alcohol consumption is more acutely dangerous than alcohol. While many of us are still uncomfortable with marijuana, perhaps it is less evil than booze.

At to the notion of pot being a "gate-way drug," Bradley Jay is not convinced. "Sure lots of heroin users smoked pot before using heroin, but many also consumed alcohol prior as well." And nobody blames the booze. I find the gate-way evidence anecdotal."

Again, would you rather catch your kid with a joint or a pint of rum?
