Walter Mitchell, who lives at the Bertram House in town, has been retired from the postal service for a few decades.

Mitchell used to deliver mail along a route in Lynn.

"Jeez, I loved it," said Mitchell. "It just suited me fine. The people were my kind of people, and I loved it."

Still spry and strong for his age, Mitchell still looks like he could deliver the mail. What's his secret?

"(I'm) Irish!" said Mitchell. "God is good to me, I'm a freak. I never expected it."

Aside from mail, Mitchell also delivered some long-lasting advice.

"I used to take it a day at a time. I take a half a day now because I never can tell," said Mitchell.
