Toys for Tots has extended its deadline because of a shortage this year.
BOSTON (CBS) – The Toys for Tots program is making a plea for more donations, saying it’s not even close to making its goal.
The number of toy donations is way down this year.
State Police are going so far as to extend the deadline for toy collections at its barracks until next Monday because the need is so great this year.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Kim Tunnicliffe reports
The organization serves about 40,000 children across the state.
At this point, they say they’re about 15,000 toys short.
Toys for all age groups are needed, but the largest shortages are on toys for kids three and under, ten to thirteen, and thirteen and over.
