Attacks Prompt Police To Increase Patrols In Boston Neighborhood

BOSTON (CBS) - At least two attacks in the past ten days have Boston police warning women in Charlestown to be careful.

The latest attack happened Wednesday evening, around 6:30 p.m.

The victim, who WBZ-TV is not identifying, was walking home from work on High Street, and saw two young men approach her.

As they got near me, they split up, so I thought something was happening. After they went by, one ran up behind me, and pushed me, the other got me in a headlock, and they took me down," she said.

She has bruises, a swollen lip, and cuts on her hand.

"After they got me on the ground, they continued to hit and kick me, but I held on to my purse," she said.

Word of the attacks is spreading.

One young mother who was out walking her baby and a friend says she's on edge.

"I'm not walking alone. I brought a friend with me. The attacks have me a little nervous," she said.

Boston police have added extra patrols in the area for visibility and to try and find the suspects.

With only a vague description to go on, finding those suspects could prove to be a tough task.
They are described only as two black teenagers with slender builds.
