BOSTON (CBS) – A U.S. Marine who was helping out the Toys for Tots program caught a thief over the weekend.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Kim Tunnicliffe reports
Boston police say 48-year-old Albert Dionizio broke into a truck on Water Street around 5 p.m. Saturday to steal some Christmas presents.
He ran when he was confronted by the truck’s owner.
The Marine, who has not been identified, was in full dress uniform loading toys when he saw Dionizio and went after him.
He caught Dionizio, wrestled him to the ground and held him until police arrived.
Dionizio was carrying a screwdriver at the time, authorities said.
He was arraigned Monday on breaking and entering charges and ordered held on $3,000 bail.
Dionizio has an extensive record for breaking and entering and has served time in jail, according to prosecutors.
