BOSTON (CBS) – Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara is expected to miss time with an injury he suffered in Saturday night’s 5-3 win over the Blue Jackets, according to the Boston Globe’s Fluto Shinzawa.
It is unlikely Chara will be available for this week’s games against Los Angeles, Ottawa, and Philadelphia, Shinzawa reports.
Kalman: A Win Without Chara
Chara was injured in the second period Saturday night. He left the ice and went to the dressing room without assistance.
Best case scenario for the Bruins captain is he will only miss the next three games. If his recovery goes well, a December 19 return against the Montreal Canadiens could be realistic. If his recovery takes longer than expected, he could be out until after Christmas.
Chara has 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) for the Bruins in 28 games this season. His plus-18 is second on the team after Tyler Seguin’s plus-19.
