Celtics Training Camp Opens

WALTHAM (CBS) - The Celtics finally opened up training camp Friday at their team facility in Waltham.

After a lengthy NBA Lockout the Big Green will hold a brief camp, play two exhibition games, and then hit the ground running with their season opener on Christmas Day in New York against the Knicks.

The Green will play a shortened 66 game season due to the lockout.

The Celtics had only nine players available for practice on day one as they tried to put their roster together.

As it looks now the C's will feature Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo, Jermaine O'Neal, Jeff Green, Marquise Daniels, Keyon Dooling(Milwaukee), Chris Wilcox(Detroit), Greg Stiemsma(NBADL), Jujuan Johnson(draft pick), and E'Twuan Moore(draft pick). The Celts also acquired forward Brandon Bass from Orlando in a sign-and-trade deal for Glen "Big Baby" Davis.

There was also a report that the Celts may acquire forward David West from New Orleans in a "sign-and-trade" deal. Jermaine O'Neal could be the one going to New Orleans.

Training camp continues Saturday and Sunday in Waltham.
