Notre Dame offensive coordinator Charley Molnar was officially named the 29th head coach of the UMass football program on Thursday, December 8, 2011.

Molnar joined Marc Bertrand & Chris Gasper to discuss why he wanted the job, and what he envisions the program becoming in the future. UMass football is moving to FBS play in 2011 and will be playing in the Mid-American Conference. The team’s home games will be played at Gillette Stadium.

How will Molnar help in marketing the program to new fans? What are the challenges in recruiting in New England and beyond? What advantage does the use of Gillette Stadium give UMass? What advice did Notre Dame head coach and Chelsea, Massachusetts native Brian Kelly offer him about taking over a program in New England? Molnar answers all of these questions and more.
