Three People Shot And Killed At Home In Cambridge; Suspect Found Dead

CAMBRIDGE (CBS) – Three people were shot and killed at a home on Grove Street in Cambridge Friday night.

Police say the three people were fatally shot as part of a domestic altercation. The identities of the victims have not been released, but they are all related.

John Brosnahan, a retired Bedford police officer was wanted in connection with the shooting. His body and car were found in Brighton near the Charles River shortly after 9:30p.m.

WBZ-TV's Jim Smith reports

He died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. His body was found about two miles from where the shootings took place.

A man walking his dog discovered the body and called police.

Brosnahan was employed by the Bedford Police Department from July 1 1972 until January 2, 2000.

Bedford Police Chief Robert Bongiorno released a statement saying, "Our concern now is with the Brosnahan family. Such an action, if proven to be true, does not reflect on the fine tradition of the Bedford Police Department."
