BOSTON (CBS) – Boston Bruins forward Daniel Paille has a mild concussion and will be out indefinitely after a first period hit against the Florida Panthers Thursday night.
“We’ll take it day by day. He’s feeling a little better today, which is always good news to hear,” head coach Claude Julien said Friday.
Paille was checked into the boards by Panthers Krys Barch on his first shift of the game, and struggled to get to his feet on the ice. After being examined by the Bruins medical staff, he did not return after the hit.
Paille will not travel with the team for Saturday night’s game in Columbus, with Jordan Caron expected to take his spot in the lineup.
The Bruins forward was just getting back into the swing of things after taking a slap shot to the face last month. Paille had been wearing a full face mask, but switched to a visor prior to Thursday night’s 2-0 loss to the Panthers.
