Tufts Medical Center And Blue Cross/Blue Shield Strike New Deal
BOSTON (CBS) - Thousands of area Blue Cross/Blue Shield members will not have to switch primary care doctors or hospitals next year. Tufts has agreed to a new contract with the Blues.
The three-year agreement comes after months of sometime acrimonious negotiations. At one point, the sides walked out on each other.
Under the agreement, Tufts and its doctors will begin the next phase of an alternative quality contract that changes the way doctors are paid.
The agreement covers about 1500 physicians.
