The woman and her dog were found by the front door of the Concord Street home, which was destroyed in the blaze.

Neighbors described the victim as a sweet, loving woman who was a mother to many in the neighborhood.

One neighbor said the woman and her dog were inseparable.

"Walking the dog, that was her favorite thing to do. She just loved that dog. For her salvation, she loved it. It kept her company, it kept her occupied, gave her something to do," said Julian Ford.

Authorities believe the cause of the fire was accidental.
