WORCESTER (CBS) – A bullet is to blame for the death of a man police originally thought had died of a pre-existing medical condition.
A large brawl broke out on Wednesday outside City Hall in Worcester.
When police arrived, they found the victim, 20-year-old Javier Santiago lying on the ground unconscious, but still breathing.
He was given CPR and rushed to the hospital where he died.
WBZ-TV’s Paul Burton reports
Originally, investigators said Santiago had not been shot.
But, an autopsy later found the young man actually died of a single gunshot wound to the chest.
Police say they are still looking for the shooter.
