A Boston police motorcycle officer was involved in a crash while reportedly escorting Santa Claus to an event.
BOSTON (CBS) – A Boston police officer escorting the Mayor’s Christmas Trolley Tour was injured in an accident on Washington Street in Roslindale on Friday night.
Boston police said the officer was taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The accident contributed to significant traffic back-ups in the area and forced nearly a dozen bus routes to detour.
The trolley, which was reportedly carrying Santa Claus to a nearby event in West Roxbury, was not involved in the crash and was eventually allowed to continue on to its destination.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
