Patriots Alumni Club Helping Pop Warner Teams Get To Super Bowls

FOXBORO (CBS) - The New England Patriots Alumni Club is trying to help local Pop Warner teams get to their Super Bowls in Orlando, Florida.

The NEPAC announced Thursday a donation of $11,250 to help eight New England Pop Warner championship teams travel to the National Championships.

This year, four Massachusetts teams, two Rhode Island teams and three Connecticut team were the beneficiaries of NEPAC's contribution, with $1,250 going to each team to assist with travel costs. This is the sixth straight year NEPAC has helped with traveling expenses for the local champions, since each team is required to raise its own funds to get to the tournament.

"We are glad to help these children have this once-in-a-lifetime chance to compete in the Pop Warner Super Bowl and visit Disney World," said NEPAC President and former Patriots center Peter Brock. "Participating in football programs like these is very special and helps build character, teamwork and camaraderie. This is a great fit with our mission to support and fund youth and high school sports programs."
