Wedding Crashers Plead Guilty To Stealing From Newlyweds

WORCESTER (CBS) - First they threw on their little black dresses. Then they crashed wedding receptions, and stole from unsuspecting newlyweds.

Summer Igoe, who's from Grafton, and Jenna Desaro, from Westboro have pleaded guilty to stealing thousands of dollars worth of gifts and cash. Surveillance video from a banquet hall at the Wachusett Country Club in West Boylston shows them blending in at a party and walking out with boxes.

It was a Worcester couple, Michelle and Ben Sherblom's wedding on May 21st. Michelle Sherblom tells WBZ it wasn't the money that upset her, but the fact that her one special day was violated.

"There's no do-over," says Sherblom.

WBZ-TV's Christina Hager reports

"We were all shocked about it that someone could do something like that," says the bride's father Michael Henschel.

One week later, the women hit another reception at the Beechwood Hotel in Worcester. That's where someone noticed they didn't fit in, and called police. When investigators searched their homes, they found cocktail dresses and newlywed magazines. A judge ordered the women to pay $4,100 in restitution.
