Community Helps Build New Boy Scout Meeting House In Ashburnham

ASHBURNHAM (CBS) - Boy Scouts in Ashburnham used to have a Scout House to meet, but a while back that house deteriorated to the point of not being usable.

Townies along with Scouts stepped up and started an effort to raise money for a new meeting facility.

It's been a few years, but now they are two-thirds of the way there to building a new meeting house.

WBZ-TV's Jonathan Elias reports

The money was raised from spaghetti dinners, hot dog and hamburger stands and yard sales.

Soon they will likely have all they need so once again they'll have their Scout House back.

The town has guaranteed when they do, they will give them a 99 year lease.
