Felger and Massarotti opened the day discussing the Boston Red Sox and their open managerial position.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports wrote this morning that the Red Sox front office has not made an offer to Dale Sveum to be their new manager. The lack of an offer from the Sox may let Sveum sign on as the new Chicago Cubs manager. While Theo was still in Boston, he may have had composed a list of manager candidates to replace Francona. Now that Theo is in Chicago, he may have brought the list with him.

Why didn’t the Sox make an offer to Sveum?

Is the Red Sox front office not happy with the manager candidates Cherington presented them?
