Stephen Haffey, a pest control worker, allegedly stole from homes.
TEWKSBURY (CBS) – A Tewksbury man who works for a pest control company is accused of cleaning house.
He’s charged with stealing from homes, sometimes while on the job.
Stephen Haffey, 24, is wanted in Tewksbury, Andover, Acton, and Tyngsboro.
Police say he stole jewelry and that some homeowners may not even realize they’ve been ripped off.
Haffey worked for Yankee Pest Control out of Malden. An investigation found that during the day he would knock on the front door and see if anyone was home, if not, he would enter the home mostly through unlocked doors or windows.
At night he would drive around and look for houses with no lights on and attempt to gain entry through open doors or windows.
Police believe there are other people involved in the crimes.
