Heidi Watney Leaving NESN

BOSTON (CBS) – Heidi Watney will no longer be bringing Boston Red Sox fans their in-game updates.

Watney, whose contract with NESN had expired, is leaving to work for Time Warner Cable in Southern California, according to multiple reports.

To make matters worse, she is leaving for the Lakers.

Watney will work as a sideline reporter on the Los Angeles Laker telecasts beginning with the 2012-13 season, assuming there is an NBA season at that point.

Watney became a fan favorite after joining NESN’s Red Sox telecasts and other programming four seasons ago.  A University of San Diego graduate, her new job allows her to work closer to home.
