Business Headlines: Tufts-Blue Cross Fight; Happy Holidays For TJX?

BOSTON (CBS) – In two months, as many as 200,000 Massachusetts residents may have to find new doctors.

Negotiations between Tufts Medical Center and Blue Cross Blue Shield have broken down over rate increases for Tufts

Not only would this affect those patients, but employers all over the state will have to think about switching insurers.

Tufts said it is unfairly paid lower than other academic medical centers in the Boston area and they were looking for a three-percent average increase.

Blue Cross disputes this, saying that Tufts was looking for an eight-percent hike, which they call unreasonable.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FOR TJX?

It's looking like a very green holiday season for TJX.

They're very optimistic about holiday sales this year at TJ Maxx and Marshalls stores.

And that's coming off a very strong third quarter where they posted net sales up five-percent from the third quarter 2010.

TJX said they got great results, despite the unseasonably warm weather we've had.

Sales picked up when the weather turned colder, leading to a very strong end of the quarter.
