Driver Who Hit Two Pedestrians In Fairhaven Faces Charges

FAIRHAVEN (CBS) – The driver who surrendered after hitting two pedestrians on Sconticut Neck Road will be charged with motor vehicle homicide.

Last Tuesday, 29-year-old Katie Brienzo and her boyfriend, 38-year-old Ellery Reynolds, were crossing the road at about 5:30 p.m. when they were hit, right in front of her family.

They were heading to Brienzo's sister's house before the accident.

Brienzo was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital, where she died. Reynolds was airlifted to Rhode Island Hospital where he was treated and released.

The driver, 35-year-old Renee Andrews faces charges of motor vehicle homicide, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury and leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury – death resulting.
