Boston Police spokesman James Kineally said the teenagers, who are from Quincy, said a man approached them inside the store, telling them he was a police officer, and offering them a ride.

WBZ-TV’s Paul Burton reports.

“In fact, according to the victims, the suspect said, ‘I’ll give you a ride home.’ At this point, the teens asked to see the suspect’s badge, smartly they asked to see his identification badge. And when he refused, they then fled the scene,” said Kineally.

The teens said the suspect had been following them for a few hours.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5’9″, in his late 20’s to early 30’s with a slim build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hat, a gray jacket, jeans and black and white Nike sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call Boston police.

    1. vb says:

obviously they knew not to get in a car with him, as they didn’t. and teenager would imply they are all atleast 13 years old…

  4. emom says:

But 13 yo’s in boston alone, I would not allow my child to go that far alone for any reason . Parents today seem to leingent in allowing children to go anywhere..
Glad they had the sense to not go with this guy, I do hope they catch him .

That’s because your emom. You’re the most prudish, uptight, controlling, tightwad poster on this entire sight. Something tells me you don’t get out much.

      1. emom says:

Hey commonsense You like name calling, seems so , Maybe you should look at what happens to kids that are let wander alone freely. How about seeing kids 8, 9 10 years old at a mall, NO ADULT at all, DO you say that is safe or right…. I am sorry but that is not, We all know things can and will happen , How can a parent allow a child under 15 years old to wander in a mall or store By themselves. I have seen the mall cops approach such kids and ask if their parents are there in the mall. The kids said no . that one of the mothers just dropped them off to wander around, Those kids were taken to security and their parents called. they were only 12 years old WHY.
so call me names all you want, Young kids do not need to be wandering around with out supervision…
Oh and I am further from a prude, or being stuck up,, You might think so from what I said her, But hey I am an adventurous person,, I just use my commonsense and good judgement instead of looking away….
        WOW judgemental You are

i’d say if they are from here they can handle themselves, and as the proved–they can handle themselves JUST fine. Have to cut the apron strings. I see kids younger than that taking the t to school all the time, all by themselves.
