BOSTON (CBS) – Boston Bruins prospect Dougie Hamilton has been named the Ontario Hockey League’s defenseman of the month for October.
Hamilton, playing for the Niagra IceDogs, led all defenseman with 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists) for the month of October. He had a career-high nine game point streak that began on October 6. that included seven multi-point games.

On October 8, Hamilton matched a career-high with four assists against the Barrie Colts.
Last season, Hamilton finished third in voting for the OHL Defenseman of the Year Award.
He was selected ninth overall by the Bruins in the 2011 NHL Draft.
