A day after our historic nor’easter and many are still trying to pick up the pieces. That, obviously, will take a long time…especially for families in Central and Western MA where most received over 20″ of snow! Well, Mother Nature will try to atone for this catastrophe by delivering a storm-free stretch that may last two weeks. During this time, for the most part, temps should wind up above average. In fact by the end of the week, temps will make a run at 60 degrees and maybe even through it!
Here is a link to the expected temps across the country over the next two weeks…cleary we are in for milder times! And here is a link to expected precip across the country ever the next two weeks…clearly we are also in for a quieter stretch as well.
Our only chance for rain showers over the next 7 days appear to show up sometime Thursday night when a coldfront will work thru and a skinny line of showers will accompany it…that’s about it.

Thanks Todd for this upbeat forecast and your diligent work over the weekend, along with your colleagues. Indian Summer is coming!

Todd, or anybody. Is the intensity of backlash snow, such as was predicted along the coast in this last Nor’easter, but thankfully did not happen, difficult if not impossible to forecast? Is it really almost a nowcasting situation? Much of the blizzard of ’78, I recall, was about backlash snow, and the totals really added up especially in Eastern Mass. Thanks in advance to whoever might shed some light on this.

Todd Gutner has failed to deliver now on two snow events in this early winter season.I have heard from some reliable sources that Todd might be on his way out.Todd is still under contract and its believed that wbz will cut him loose.Barry Burbank has had several run ins with Todd over the last few seasons and seems to be the big push behind this. One incident last year may have sealed Todds fate when Barry had to come in during a snowstorm on his day off to restore order in the weather center when Todd came up shy with current conditions causing many accidents and traffic delays. This should be interesting.

a calm streach indeed is on its way temps will be above normal with highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s and 40s. our next chance of rain is next thursday on the long range as a series of storms pass to our south or to our north because of an area of high pressure . this streach of sunny and warm weather will give alot of aid to recovery from the october storm. anyone that has postpone tricker treating will have warmer temps expecially if durring the weekend enjoy the week. hope the people that have lost power gets it back soon. 80% of billerica is with out power even though we only got 2 or 3 inches
