Felger and Massarotti continued the day breaking down the New England Patriots 25-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday at Heinz Field.

The guys got into the loss by discussing Belichick’s call to go for the onside kick. Why did Belichick call for it? Does he have that little trust in his defense that he wants to keep them off the field?

How does this call compare to the 4th and 2 call in Indianapolis two seasons ago, and how has Belichick changed when it comes to these kind of play calls?

Felger then runs down previous plays and situations where Belichick has actually trusted his defense in the past. What is so different now?

How can Belichick get this defense back on track?

  1. Jimbo says:

A caller on the show tonight at 5:45 made an excellent point that was discounted immediately by Felger but actually was correct and very important. Towards the end of the 4th quarter I believe in the 5-6 minute range, the play clock was NOT stopping on pass completion plays where the player ran out of bounds. I was astounded and was wondering if I didn’t understand the rules correctly or if there had been a change in the rules. The game should be invalidated.
