October Snowstorm Road, Damage Reports: Downed Trees, Power Lines

BOSTON (CBS) - The first shocking snowstorm of the season dumped more than 20 inches of snow in parts of Massachusetts. As a result, traveling on the roads can be difficult.

Damage Reports:

11:15 a.m. - Northampton, Mass: Tree Down on House on Chestnut Street
11:15 a.m. - Georgetown, Mass: Numerous Trees Down
10:41 a.m. - Milford, NH: Trees down and power outages town wide with estimated restoration time of 5-7 days
10:35 a.m. - Townsend, Mass: Multiple trees down on Route 13 and the road is closed.
9:38 a.m. - Littleton, Mass: Numerous Trees down blocking multiple roads with numerous trees down on houses
9:22 a.m. - Auburn, Mass: 12" Oak Branch down in Rochdale section
9:21 a.m. - New Braintree, Mass: 16" diameter trees down with many limbs down up to 8" in diameter
9:05 a.m. - Douglas, Mass: One tree down in person's yard
9:00 a.m. - Holden, Mass: 2 main power feeds into the town are down and the entire town is without power
8:44 a.m. - West Springfield, Mass: Route closed between West Springfield and Holyoke due to phone poles, transformers, trees and wires down
8:40 a.m. - Franklin County Mass 'sitrep': 80-100% power outage from Erving to Colrain Mass and from Shutesbury to Shelburne, Mass. Montague to Shelburne Mass has a 50% outage
7:00 a.m. - Marion, Mass: 2 Trees down on Spring Road near Farm Road.

Road Conditions as of 9 a.m.:

MASS. PIKE

The previous weather related restrictions are no longer in place and there are no significant incidents.

CENTRAL MASS.

There are road closures at Route 2 and State Road in Irving and Route 9 in Amherst and Ware. There are downed trees and power lines in the Brookfield and Belchertown areas.

WESTERN MASS.

There are no traffic issues to report, however several towns are without power due to downed trees and power lines.

NORTH SHORE

South Border Road in Winchester is closed due to a downed power line.
