October Snowstorm Knocks Tree Onto Live Wires Along Busy Natick Road

NATICK (CBS) - One casualty from the October snowstorm was a large tree that was knocked over onto live wires along a busy Natick road on Sunday.

The tree's precarious resting spot on live wires shut down Speen Street, one of Natick's busiest roads.

Some trees snapped, others split, and people woke up without power all over town on Sunday.

"It's a little earlier than we were ready for. Had to get out and do some winterizing really quickly and not fast enough," said Bob Grace of Natick.

Tree crews said they have never seen anything like it with so much heavy snow and the trees still covered with leaves.

"The biggest thing with this storm was the leaves still on the trees here. With (a) winter storm, the leaves have already fallen and it helps with the weight. There's additional weight with the leaves there," said James Denoncour of Lewis Tree Service.

Despite blanket of snow causing destruction and canceling all kinds of plans, many kids told WBZ-TV they still will go Trick-or-Treating on Monday night.
