Elizabeth Warren Clarifies 'Occupy' Protest Remarks
BOSTON (AP) — U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren says the Wall Street protests are "independent" and "organic," clarifying a previous comment in which she seemed to be taking credit for the movement.
Warren said Thursday that what she had intended to say earlier was that she had been protesting against Wall Street abuses for a long time.
In an interview posted on the website of The Daily Beast, the Harvard Law School professor and consumer advocate had said she "created much of the intellectual foundation" for what the protesters are doing.

Republicans criticized her for the remark, pointing to arrests of some protesters in Boston and other cities.
Warren said during an appearance Thursday in Newton that protesters must follow the law.
She also said she's been advised to choose her words more carefully.
