BOSTON (CBS) – Before Game 7 of the Stanley Cup final last year, Boston Bruins forward Nathan Horton squirted some melted TD Garden ice in Vancouver to give the B’s a little extra luck.

Now, hockey rinks around New England will get a chance to do it themselves.

Horton made a special delivery of melted TD Garden ice from the 2010-11 Stanley Cup winning season to the Simoni Skating Arena in Cambridge on Tuesday as part of the Bruins “Home Ice Advantage” campaign.

“Hopefully it brings all of New England good luck, just like it did us last year,” said Horton.

At the conclusion of the 2010-11 Stanley Cup Championship season, the TD Garden ice was melted and preserved for the campaign. Now every hockey rink throughout New England, over 300 in total, will get their own splash from their very own Gatorade water bottle.

“It’s pretty special. I didn’t think people were going to care about it that much,” Horton said of his pregame pour in Vancouver.

Rinks will receive their water bottles in the next few weeks, and are encouraged to host their own ceremonies.
