BROCKTON (CBS) – Brockton Police are investigating the death of a Marine Corps veteran.

The 65-year-old man was in his wheelchair crossing the intersection near the McDonald’s on Belmont Street when a car hit him, according to the Brockton Enterprise.

The victim, Edwin Nelson, was a double-amputee and an in-patient at the VA Medical Center less than a mile from the crash.

State Police were reconstructing the accident.

Investigators are also reviewing surveillance video that captured the crash on tape.
