A Couple Chances for Showers

High pressure south of New England will provide a dry day for the region. A mid-level cloud deck in western New England with early dense fog in the Valleys. Some of these clouds are trying to spread eastward during the morning through afternoon. Sunshine will be most abundant at the coast. A mix of sun and clouds across the region today with highs in the upper 50's and lwr 60's.

Mainly clear skies tonight with lows again dropping into the 30's in the valleys and 40's at the coast and downtown. Winds begin to shift to the south as high pressure begins to pull off the coast. Winds will be out of the SW Monday with temps climbing to 62-66. High to mid-level clouds will increase Monday ahead of an approaching front. Filtered sunshine to increased clover. A weak front will push through Monday night for a risk of a few light showers...early evening west, midnight and after for eastern MA.

High pressure will build again Tuesday behind this front delivering gusty NW winds and cooler temps back to near 60 with mostly sunny skies. High clouds will increase late along with another low which will be pushing into the Great Lakes. A warm front will spread clouds towards New England Wednesday.  South of the front, temps will be in the 60's in SNE. On the cooler side of the warm front temps will only be in the 50's. There is a chance for a few showers later in day along the front.

By Wednesday night, a wave of low pressure will be tracking just south of New England through Thursday morning hugging the south coast. Gusty NE winds develop Thursday with a steady rain, temps will be chilly and raw only 50-55. Not a nice day at all.  As the storm deepens as it pulls away and deepens off the Coast Early Friday morning...before dawn...there is the potential for a brief change over to wet snow. This should not last long, but would not be surprised to see out first flakes of the season early Friday morning.

Colder air will drain in from Canada Friday and Saturday with building high pressure. Highs will remain in the 40's...the coldest air so far.... Maybe a few snow showers or flurries Saturday. We'll see. Plenty of uncertainty with those fine details in the long range...but good confidence for unsettled wet weather Thursday which will bring in colder air to end the week.
