Warning Over Mispackaged Fiber One Peanut Butter Bars

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Rhode Island health officials are warning consumers about a production error that could expose consumers to peanuts.

The Department of Health says a limited number of  individually-wrapped chocolate peanut butter flavor Fiber One 90-Calorie Chewy Bar packages were inserted into five-count boxes labeled as chocolate flavor Fiber One 90-calorie Chewy Bars.

Officials say there are no reports of allergic reactions or illness associated with the product. But the chance of an allergen in the product without a warning label means it is subject to a voluntary recall under U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations.

Health officials say the "better if used by" date on the affected boxes is May 19, 2012.

Consumers requesting refunds or calling with further questions should contact General Mills Consumer Services at 1-800-231-0308.
