Time to Exhale and Enjoy the Weekend Weather

It has been an active week of weather, but a drier pattern with seasonably cool air is here for the weekend. Time to settle in, relax and smell the scents of autumn...before the leaves start to fall and the final push of yard work will dominate some of our weekends.

Sunny dry and breezy SW winds today, Gusts to 20 to 30 mph by midday and afternoon. Highs will be cooler than yesterday...58 to 64. There are clouds in the far northern and western reaches of New England associated with an upper low which continues to lift into Canada. Those clouds will primarily stay there, but a few puffy cu's may pop with the heating of the day across the interior. Winds will be diminishing tonight with lows dropping into the 40's with clear to partly cloudy skies.

High pressure will build and track towards the mid-atlantic states. This will wrap in a cooling WNW breeze and cooler air aloft will be moving in overhead with a departing trough and shortwave. This will allow a few mid level clouds to mix in with the sunshine. Cool dry air with temps mostly in the 50's to near 60. More sunshine and beautiful fall weather through Sunday with highs near 60 and light variable winds.

A weak front will approach Monday with increasing clouds during the daylight hours and a slight risk  of showers after sunset. Colder dry breezy air will filter in behind the front Tuesday with temps back in the 50's

We will likely remain on the cool side 50's for the rest of the week as the risk for more showers increases for the middle to end of the week. A Clipper-type low will slide through Wednesday with a few showers. The front will likely stall of the coast. A tropical low coming out of the Gulf could ride up the stalled front up the east coast as an intensifying coastal storm for the late week. This will come with rain, wind, cool temps.  The track & set up for the end of the week is highly uncertain at this point and will vary in the coming days. We'll see.  But as the low bombs, it could drag in just enough cold air on the back side for rain to change to snow for a time Friday into early Saturday. But really..that is just one run of the Euro...so it is a bit early for any certainty...but it's out there! Have a great weekend!
