HOLBROOK (CBS) – Police in Holbrook were looking for a man who posed as a police officer to rob a woman who had just left the bank.
Officers say on Monday around 11:00 a.m., the thief followed the victim from the Hingham Institute of Savings in Weymouth.
The suspect, driving a white Ford Taurus with a flashing blue light on top of his car, pulled over the woman in Holbrook.
The suspect walked up to the victim’s car, indicated that he had a gun in his pocket, and told the woman, “You won’t be in any trouble if you give up the money. I know you just came from the bank.”
She handed over the money and the suspect took off.
The victim later told police she pulled over because she thought the car was an unmarked cruiser.
Police were in the process of putting together a description of the suspect and were planning to give out a sketch as soon as it was completed.
